The Rhubarb Thieves

The Rhubarb Thieves were born of the folk session nights at Hesket Newmarket’s famous Old Crown Inn. Initially a foursome, they played traditional tunes and songs together for their own enjoyment with no plan to perform publicly apart from the occasional fundraising ceilidh, but they gradually started playing in venues around Cumbria, building a reputation for varied and entertaining sets, and are now also regularly playing festivals and concerts further afield. Now a trio, they have a large repertoire that includes original compositions and modern covers whilst still incorporating traditional fare. The line-up consists of Brigid Garvey (vocals/keyboards), Mark Stephenson (vocals/guitar/uke), Brian Woodall (vocals/violin/mandolin).
