Penrith Street Art

EVAN is proud to help create more street art murals in Penrith, adding more colour and creativity to the streets.

EVAN director Daniel Skyle is one of the two founders of a new street art project in Penrith in 2026: the first stage is focused on bringing in a famous street art team that will teach workshops in Penrith schools, with a second stage where the team will repaint Penrith skate park together with the young people here. EVAN is planning a third stage of future street art murals.

And the first part of the project is now here! The team will be visiting at the end of April and the beginning of May 2026, first coming to Penrith to hold a week of workshops on street art and creativity in three secondary schools. During this week you can also come and watch the team yourself – they will be creating a mural on Little Dockray, on the wall behind the Jigsaw Hospice charity shop, next to the Narrowbar Café and painting on May Day (see below).

As one of EVAN´s directors, Daniel took initiative to bring these ideas and then work with the other founder at Westmorland and Furness Council. Daniel added the aspects of art and creativity, with the ideas for murals, connection with the team, the idea about helping grow street art in Penrith, and the EVAN focus of workshops for schools, while the Council officer added aspects of community safety, acquired funding, and coordinated the project for the Council. Other stakeholders focusing on youth engagement next joined. The team coming up is skilled at working with Councils and youth groups and have long experience as street artists – you can read more about them here: www.dvisionart.com

You will get the unique opportunity to watch the street art team paint the mural on Little Dockray, but also to join in yourself – live! – on May Day, at Penrith bandstand, as they and another artist invite the people of Penrith to help paint the art cube.

The team will co-design the paintings for the skate park together with the local young people using it, and will come back for the second stage to repaint this in July 2026.

The third stage will help create more local murals, and the fourth stage a future EVAN street art painting competition in Penrith together with the local schools to nourish creativity and art for young people here, and to support this for the overall Penrith community. EVAN will lead these future aspects of the project.

If you want to see colourful and living street art bring more creativity to Penrith – come and watch the mural be painted, or come and join us on May Day!

(And keep an eye on this page, we will keep uploading images and videos from EVAN´s Penrith street art projects here.)
