The Misdemenours

The Misdemeanours are a 4-piece acoustic band offering a modern take on a lively, traditional, musical heritage, playing Americana, blues, swing and jazz with a bit of Jug band music thrown in. The band comprises of Ken Wilcock, Rich Evans & sisters Gwen Bainbridge & June Swift. Their instruments include cello, accordion, banjo, various guitars, ukulele, washboard, double bass, acme siren, kazoo, and percussion instruments too!

The music appeals to a wide age range and lends itself to dancing, amongst which includes Swing dancing. Swing dancing taster sessions can be incorporated into gigs, with the help of ‘Swingdance Cumbria.’

Penrith-based, they gig regularly within the area and further a field, doing weddings, birthday parties, fund-raisers and also village hall gigs and festivals. They can provide all kit necessary.
