After retiring from a stroke at the age of 51 I realised that there was more to life than making money, in fact the way of life that I was brought up to adopt was killing me and killing the planet.

Following my stroke I founded the Carlisle Different Strokes support group for stroke survivors and their families. Unfortunately the numbers of the group continue to increase.

I have found an artistic streak in my retirement, writing books and producing works of art.

Although I call my stroke ‘my stroke of luck’ it did put an end to my Blues Guitar career.
