Lakes Gathering

JOHN LIPSCOMBE - From the age of six I constantly drew in pencils and painted my imaginary comic book heroes. As a professional musician I travelled the world and back in the UK I worked for the BBC as a sound producer and radio presenter. All the time I continued to paint, drawing on the narrative of the scenes around me in the Lake District and from my time abroad. I've always been captivated by the way light plays in dark and light forms, how colour can be portrayed as heat, or coolness and stories are told with the flick of a brush.

MELODY LIPSCOMBE - Destined to be a professional dancer from the age of three it was a whole way of life through my teenage years. Training at Italia Conti Stage School I went on to work all over the world visiting places that inspired my love of photography and art.

Back home I continued with my photography and watercolour painting, but what keeps me buzzing all day and awake all night is my love for Stained glass art making. I love the way light plays through the beautiful coloured glass and find the process of making the pieces therapeutic.
