Rachel Greenbank

Rachel is a contemporary portrait and figure artist and Illustrator. She creates dreamlike paintings in acrylic on canvas, wood or slate. Blending the natural beauty of feminine figures and faces, animals and people with textures, sacred geometric patterns, found images, and nature photography, she creates multi layered digital montages using apps. These images form the source material for her paintings.

Through the use of feminine imagery she transcends emotion through various etherial and spiritual themes, often using a bold colour palette to capture the viewers eye.

Trying to capture emotion, women’s personalities, their many layers and characteristics through the painting process while expressing her own is the driving force behind her work.

Since graduating from UClan with a 1st Class Degree in illustration in 1998, she has worked as a greeting Card designer with Inspire By Design, an agent for International Greetings. Most recently an Art Practitioner for South Lakeland Mind, running art workshops and classes. She currently lives and works from a studio in Brampton, Cumbria and is available for private or group tuition and commissions.
