Natalie uses a variety of material and styles to create colourful and contemporary artwork. The natural landscape of Cumbria is a main focus.
Paintings of woodland using acrylics comes from her life long love of orienteering. Her contemporary landscapes come from experimenting with painter pens from Derwent; these were a Christmas present.
A love of collage came from recycling her parents photos and paper items into art work after clearing the family home.
Pen and watercolours are great when painting plein air as they are easy to take on day trips and on holiday.
Natalie loves to create in collections and is currently completing a Covid-19 pandemic portrait series and working through an ambitious long term project sketching all the buildings in Cumbria mentioned in Pevsner.
