Mary Egerton

My love of flowers inspires my painting – the detail of petals, veins on the leaves, shadows cast by the light, and the delicacy of natural colour.

I have also been experimenting with presenting flowers on a dark background to give more impact to the composition, with the use of gouache as well as pure watercolour.

So - detail, form, light, colour, shape – lots of challenges!
