Linda Stanton
Born and raised in 1973 in the steel city of Sheffield. Most of my childhood and teenage days were spent in the playground and on the athletics track, trailing in at the back and receiving the loudest applause. Finally in 1991 my event is found and away I go, catapulting into history and then later the Commonwealth Pole Vault record books. Alas in 1999 my life got flipped and turned upside down. I crash back to earth missing the mats and badly break my wrist. The new millennium arrives and along with it a whole heap of change.
