Motivated by the process of making ceramics that are both functional and beautiful, I am inspired by a love of walking in the Lake District and the Hebrides.
I consider form and finish to be of equal importance. The shapes within my work are deliberately simple and calming. The unique glazes reflect a natural palette of colour, collected though sketches and photography. To me they spark a memory of place.
In our consumeristic culture, I aspire to create pieces for the home which remind us that traditional craft processes can be timeless.
I am about to enter my final year studying towards a degree in Glass and Ceramics, at the National Glass Centre, but live locally in Penrith.
