The pace of life seems too quick these days, we’re all in a rush. If we just stopped, for the briefest of moments, and looked around us, what would we see? A world frozen in time. A series of backdrops waiting to fall into place for the next scene.

When I step out with a camera I don’t look for the next shot, I allow the shot to find me. Whether it’s an image that I’ll class as Nostalgia Nouveaux – pictures captured in the 21st century that look much older – or a modern scene caught in a web of forgotten sunlight, I always allow the images to speak for themselves. It’s too easy to create a great shot, and too difficult to make a shot look great. To take back control you have to let go.

I hope my pictures connect with you at some deep level – or at least make you smile!
