My name is Julie Blasberg-King and I'm an ageing punk and creative person living in rural Cumbria.
I studied art at school and was going to Aberdeen University to study for a Masters degree in fine art and history of art, when I decided to drop out of education completely and get a job in the music industry. I worked in London but, after starting a family, I left the big smoke to work nearer to home.
Every so often I returned to art, but it took a back seat due to my deteriorating physical and mental health. I was diagnosed with PTSD, had therapy and then decided to try and tackle things myself; that's when I started to draw again.
I tend to work in mixed media collage, creating pet portraits out of torn paper but, I also love to draw and have started making papier mache sculptures.
Nowadays, I am usually found in my teeny, tiny studio. I am a lover of tattoos, piercings, pink hair, Sigur Ros and street art.
