Emma Baker

Line artist living in the Eden Valley, working mainly with pen and ink to make detailed and attentive drawings.

Most of my current work is commission based. Portraits (of animals or humans) give me a thrill because each one has its own character to capture, and I don’t just have myself to please.

I also love to take on subjects that strike a chord with me personally. Tackling the Cumbrian Fells is deeply satisfying. When out running along a lakeside track I’m always looking up for a good view to draw and will be itching to get my pens out. On the flip side, after spending a day getting stuck into a picture of a great slab of rock, I’ll want to throw my climbing shoes in a bag and head out to get my hands on it. Its a hugely enjoyable cycle that I’ll never tire of.

If you have a special place, person or animal that you’d like me to draw please feel free to get in touch for more information.
