Anna Blair

I am a textile artist based in the North of Cumbria, working predominately with fabric, paper and thread to create framed pieces of wall art. My inspiration comes from geometric shapes, and patterns and forms found within nature.

I use a variety of textile techniques to add texture, pattern and dimension to the pieces I create, including hand stitching and shibori (a process traditionally used to dye fabric which I use to add texture). I enjoy exploring the unexpected and unlimited possibilities fabric has to offer to translate sources of inspiration into both two and three dimensional fabric forms.
